INVICTUS

Superhero Battle Royale · Sentinel Comics

The year is 2046, and the closest thing the world has to a parliament is a fight. Two megacorporations own the powered class, and once every two years they settle who writes the rules of the planet inside a sanctioned arena. This is INVICTUS: a corporate superhero battle royale on the Sentinel Comics RPG, run as a persistent Play-by-Post world where the cameras lie and the contracts don't.

The World

Earth is recognizable, phones, traffic, social media, but the powered class exists, and almost all of it traces back to a serum called ICHOR-V, drawn from something pulled out of the Mariana Trench. Two corporations own the supply. Halcyon Defense Group builds the hardware: exosuits, drones, orbital platforms, Powerframe armor. Asphodel Biomedical brews the wetware: the serum itself, genetic augmentation, designer combat bodies. They hate each other and need each other, because together they refine and distribute every legal vial on the planet.

After a corporate proxy war put civilian casualties on the evening news, the Geneva Compact outlawed open combat between the majors. The tournament is the loophole. Once every two years the Iron Crown runs for four months. Real fights, real stakes, broadcast worldwide, and whoever wins it gets to set global policy until the next one. Below the table, the underground Long Card runs unsanctioned circuits across half the world, where the rules are honest because there aren't any.

What You Play

You are a powered human, and the defining choice isn't what your powers do. It's whose name is on your contract. A sanctioned competitor on a Halcyon or Asphodel deal, with image rights and approved opponents written into the fine print. Long Card underground talent fighting for purse money and a reputation. A civilian hero operating in the cracks. Or someone whose ledger crosses all three. Power costs the body, fame costs the rest of you, and everyone in the arena is on a clock they're pretending not to watch.

How It Plays

INVICTUS runs on the Sentinel Comics RPG: a fast, cinematic system whose color-coded status dice keep big powers and bigger personalities at the center of every exchange. As a seasonal live-service Play-by-Post world it never pauses: the Iron Crown season, the twenty-month off-season of training arcs and sponsor obligations, and the always-running Long Card all move forward whether you log in or not. A custom Discord bot stack tracks your sheet, your contracts, your standings, and the dice. Sign, step in, and find out what the footage leaves out.

Quick Questions

Q: Do I need to know Sentinel Comics already?
A: No. New and rusty players are welcome. The guided orientation teaches the basics and the free Sentinel Comics character builder walks you through making a powered fighter.
Q: What's the tone like?
A: Corporate spectacle over real wreckage. Bright stadium lights, network cameras, and contracts that own pieces of you, then the locker room where the footage already lies about what happened. Superhero action with a dystopian edge, where the villains have business cards.
Q: What's "persistent Play-by-Post" mean?
A: You play by writing posts on Discord on your own schedule, in a shared world that keeps moving. Seasonal Iron Crown brackets, off-season arcs, and NPCs that remember you. More on how Play-by-Post works →
