Quantum Zero

Cyberpunk Superhero · FASERIP

Twenty years ago the world ended at the Zero Event, and one city survived beneath a quantum-stabilized dome: Neo-Babylon, six million souls, six megacorporations, and a handful of people the quantum cascade turned into something more than human. You are one of them. This is cyberpunk superhero noir, run as a persistent Play-by-Post world.

The World

The official story is simple: the Zero Event was an unavoidable accident, the world outside is dead, and the corporations saved everyone. What's left is Neo-Babylon, fifty miles across, three miles high at the peak, sealed under the Dome, a lattice of quantum crystal that projects a passable sky by day and an aurora of refracted light by night. It is the only thing standing between six million people and a world where physics itself has turned hostile to stable matter.

The cascade left behind Quantum Universal Energy (QUE), which now saturates everything and replaces the old power grid. It also rewrote a few people. Most exposures killed; some produced mutations; a rare few walked away with powers. Six megacorporations, Helios, Oracle, Talos, Promethean, Panopticon, and MNN, each own a subsystem the Dome can't survive without, which means they own the city, the sky, and the weather allocation. At the center sits The Scar, the open quantum wound where it all began, still crackling, still birthing things no one controls. Gleaming spires above, toxic underbellies below, and heroes desperately needed but rarely welcome.

What You Play

You are a metahuman, one of the few the QUE cascade remade instead of killed. Maybe you were a corporate test subject, a Warrens survivor, a Scar-touched anomaly, or someone who simply caught a dose and lived. The powers are real; so is the cost of using them in a city that surveils everyone and licenses heroism like a product. You decide what your abilities are worth, and to whom. In Neo-Babylon the question is never just can you win the fight, it's who's watching, who profits, and who pays for it after.

How It Plays

Quantum Zero runs on FASERIP, the classic Marvel Super Heroes engine: Fighting, Agility, Strength, Endurance, Reason, Intuition, Psyche, plus the Universal Table for fast, cinematic resolution that handles street brawls and reality-warping powers alike. As a seasonal live-service Play-by-Post world it never pauses, arcs roll forward whether or not you log in, and a custom Discord bot stack tracks your Karma, powers, contacts, and the shifting Dome Health Index. Show up, write, change the city.

Quick Questions

Q: Do I need to know FASERIP already?
A: No. New and rusty players are welcome, the guided orientation teaches the basics and the free FASERIP builder walks you through making a metahuman.
Q: What's the tone?
A: Cyberpunk superhero noir. Neon and chrome over rot, powers that feel great to use and worse to answer for, and a city where the corporations keeping you alive are the same ones keeping you trapped. Heroic, but it costs something.
Q: What's "persistent Play-by-Post" mean?
A: You play by writing posts on Discord on your own schedule, in a shared world that keeps moving. Seasonal storylines, roaming threats, and NPCs that remember you. More on how Play-by-Post works →
